Peace, Love, Ecstasy, Unity, Respect

What? Our last update was in November? Wow, time gets away and frankly there hasn't been that much to write about. But all that has changed when yesterday our inbox was brightened with the delivery of a few new remixes.

A new season, a new batch of remixes of Calvin Harris' The Girls. Yep, we gave you Six's remix of Dragonette's take on the misogyny-laden electro (now) classic a few months back and now it seems his label has commissioned a new round of remixes. Our personal fave is by Italian DJ/Producer Pornocult.

By now anyone with an internet connection has heard the latest Goldfrapp disc, Seventh Tree. While taking a sharp left from their last two offerings (electro-masterpiece Black Cherry and dancefloor burner Supernature) Alison and Will have managed to pull together a beautiful, cohesive record that will definitely gain them new fans while hopefully giving the disco kids something to chill out to as they come down from a night at the club. Bridging these two worlds is a great remix of the first single from Seventh Tree, A&E, by Brazilian DJ and producer Gui Boratto.

If you've been to any party where Six was spinning in the last few months then you've seen the frenzy unleashed upon the dancefloor when the opening beats of Sweaty, the opening track off Guns Babes Lemonade by Aussie wunderkind Muscles, starts pounding through the PA and the kids start chanting the tagline and jumping around like it was 1990 all over again. And now indie-electro-English teacher Juan Maclean gives this would-be happy-house anthem a mid-90's Mute Records vibe.

Next week we'll have more new remixes and a mixtape and who knows what else. And don't forget Lucky Pierre is Friday night at the Stud!
