Let your girlfriend do what your boyfriend can't...

Gonna give, gonna give you all my love...every inch of my love, 'n' stuff.

Monday night New Young Pony Club played in SF, and we missed it. We didn't miss it for any sad reason, just that we were too burnt out from the weekend. It's not like we don't hear them, play them, read about them, watch them, talk about them incessantly for more than three years now. And, it's not like we didn't see them on their first US tour. If you're not in the right space, it'll ruin a show for you, and that's what we were feelin' on Monday. But, from all accounts, they've been tearin' up stages across the US on this tour and I've heard that Monday's show did not dissapoint. Tuesday, though, saw the release of an EP of new remixes of "Get Lucky." You know we've been playing the MSTRKRFT remix everywhere for the past month and it's featured on 6's October mixtape (download link below). One of the more surprising mixes we've heard is Riton's druggy/dub-y take. It's a little like that feeling the morning after a lot of cocktailing when little bits and pieces flash in your head, though you don't know if you're remembering actual events or your drunken dreams. (Or so we've heard...)

But that's not the only NYPC-related release of late: keyboardist Louise Hayter's solo project, The New Sins, is releasing their debut single "It Doesn't Work Like That" (this is possibly already in the shops...we can't find an exact release date). While the NME makes some ridiculous comparison (Sophie Ellis-Bextor fronting LCD Soundsystem? Who's their dealer these days?), it kinda sounds like Client covering NYPC. But then, opinions are like a**holes, are we right? Read about it and listen to the single at SoundBites.

We know that The Dynamics reggae take on "Seven Nation Army" has been floating around the blogs for nearly a year already, but Tuesday also saw the release of a Patchworks remix of "Seven Nation Army" backed with their take on Led Zepplin's slightly pornographic classic "Whole Lotta Love." Genius or disturbing...you be the judge!

And while we're veering toward the ridiculous, you've gotta hear Boyz Noize remixing Marilyn Manson. Run for cover, kids, the world just might possibly be coming to an end...

Lastly (for today, anyway) watch this space for a screamin' new electro remix of Kylie's new single 2 Hearts.

Hugs 'n' stuff,

The Clique

Dragonette, Calvin Harris...Who Created Disco?

If you know us or our parties, you know that we love love love us some Dragonette. And, we were a little obsessed with Calvin Harris' I Created Disco when it first came out. Well then, it's only fitting that DJ6 decided to disco up Dragonette's cover of Harris' "The Boys." You've been hearing it for the past few weeks wherever 6 is spinning and now you can revel in the electro-disco goodness whenever you please.

Dave Gahan? Didn't Paper Monsters kinda blow? But then, didn't Playing The Angel kinda rule? Well, obviously Dave learned something from both of these experiences because his new solo record, Hourglass, is pretty damn good. I don't know that "Deeper And Deeper" is my favorite song from the record, but it's definitely ready for some remix madness. This could be the dancefloor burner of the winter. Somebody get on it!

And, just because we're cool like that, enjoy a remix of a cover of a first-wave-of-disco classic. Say that three times fast.

Lucky Pierre is Friday (November 2nd) at the Stud. Dia de los Muertos/Noche de los Putos. High school Spanish DOES come in handy.
